Immigrant Legal Advocacy Project, Maine - Maine’s only state-wide immigration legal services and advocacy organization. ILAP helps immigrants improve their legal status. Their work is particularly important when facing criminal charges, as pleas or admissions (even those that do not lead to a conviction) can affect your legal status in the United States.
Pine Tree Legal Assistance - provides legal services to members of the public of modest means, specializing in landlord/tenant law, estate planning, family law, special education, civil litigation and others. PTLA has one of the best self-help websites there is.
Maine Volunteer Lawyers Project - a legal aid organization that provides free legal information, assistance, and representation to Mainers with low incomes facing civil legal issues.
Maine Legal Services for the Elderly - provides legal services to Maine’s socially and economically needy elderly age 60 and over.
HelpMELaw - provides legal information for low-income people in the State of Maine, and includes easy-to-read self-help information.
Maine Equal Justice Partners - a nonprofit legal aid provider working to increase economic security, opportunity, and equity for people in Maine.
